Community Partners & Our Donors
Every year we work with a variety of community partners to transform the lives of our students. Together we are committed to helping each student reach their full potential. Support from philanthropic corporate and foundation partners, public & private schools, community organizations and compassionate volunteers, all come together as a rich network to make our summer and year-round enrichment programs an inspiring success.
How can you partner with Horizons Hampton Roads to change the future of a child?

Horizons works with Corporate and Foundation Donors & Partners
Horizons Hampton Roads only thrives with the support of both Corporate and Foundation grants. Funding to support quality programming, as well as community service projects, come together to make our life transforming program possible. In 2014 & 2016, Horizons Hampton Roads received $10,000 from Cox Charities to grow our summer programs, leading to improved educational outcomes for children living in poverty. In 2017, Whole Foods Market dedicated a percentage of shopping profits and donated $6,609.45 in honor of our number one inspiring nonprofit award from Coastal Virginia Magazine. In 2019, we received $25,000 from both Bank of America and Norfolk Southern to support summer reading and enrichment opportunities for over 400 students enrolled in our 2019 program.
In 2014, Horizons Hampton Roads partnered with Amerigroup to bring a safe, new playground to our Portsmouth site located at Portsmouth Regional Catholic School. Every summer, Horizons Hampton Roads must be inspected and compliant with the VA Department of Social Services. Having a safe, well maintained playground for our students is important and a part of their summer learning adventures.
Public and Private School Partnerships
Horizons Hampton Roads is very grateful for the strong partnerships we have with our city public schools as well as our 3 local independent schools who generously house the Horizons program during our 6-week summer sessions. Huge Horizons Thank You to Norfolk Collegiate School, Chesapeake Bay Academy and Portsmouth Regional Catholic School.
