Students & Families

Happy BDay Ms Drof

Attention Returning Families!  If you are a current Horizons student or family, applications for Summer 2017 will be mailed in January of 2017. If however, you would like to reserve your spot now by registering online, please contact our Enrollment Specialist, Tracey Quales and she will email you an application.

If you are new to Horizons, please understand that our first priority is to our returning students and families. We will fill open slots only after we have re-enrolled current students. Also, keep in mind that we enroll students through the school Guidance Counselors, so if you live in Virginia Beach, Norfolk or Portsmouth and your child is eligible for free or reduced lunch, please contact your Guidance Counselor and they will help you to apply.

Our students & families benefit from our community partners and the Horizons program. Together, we help each student to carry out their hopes and dreams, sharing the excitement of learning and offering a new outlook on life.

The Horizons program becomes an extended “family” to each child. Because we see most of our students summer after summer, the familiarity and trust grows each year.

At Horizons, the family is key. By helping a child, the family will benefit. Our goal is to make the world a better place both academically and physically for each child. Students are nurtured by the commitment and passion of those who believe in giving every child a chance to become the confident individual that they can be – moving toward the fulfillment of their dreams, thereby opening up opportunities to the entire family and transforming lives.

The Horizons program becomes an extended “family” to each child. Because we see most of our students summer after summer, the familiarity and trust grows each year. This trust soon builds confidence and older Horizons students become mentors to younger Horizons children.

NCS reading 6.25.13Horizons fosters a love of learning and teaches students to help each other. We value the Horizons graduates who return to the program as student aides and assistants. Our alumni staff continues to grow and be dedicated to the mission that fulfilled their own hopes for a life filled with success.
